Children do not come into this world carrying hatred, prejudice, or social divisions. Much of what they learn about people comes from what they see, hear, and experience around them.
As parents, we have a powerful responsibility: to decide what we pass on to the next generation.
Caste, creed, social status, and prejudice can become deeply rooted when children are taught to judge people by labels rather than character. They may grow up believing that some people are more valuable, worthy, or deserving than others simply because of the family or community they were born into.
But we can choose differently.
We can teach our children to respect people regardless of their background. We can teach them kindness instead of superiority, compassion instead of prejudice, and understanding instead of unnecessary divisions.
This does not mean abandoning our values, traditions, or faith. It means teaching children to hold their values while still treating every human being with dignity and respect.
The next generation will inherit many things from us—but one of the most important things they inherit is the way we teach them to see other people.
