What Truly Lasts

We spend much of our lives gathering things we believe will make us important—money to secure our future, fame to earn recognition, and power to gain influence.Yet time has a way of reminding us that nothing we possess is ours forever.

Wealth can diminish, recognition can fade, and positions of power can change hands. But the goodness we extend to others leaves a different kind of mark.

A kind word spoken at the right moment, an act of compassion offered without expectation, or a life lived with integrity may leave an impression long after our possessions have lost their significance.

Perhaps the true measure of a life is not how much we managed to gather, but how much goodness remained because we were here. What we accumulate may one day pass into other hands. What we leave in people’s hearts can continue to live through them.

“Time may claim all that we gather, but the goodness we leave behind outlives what we hold.”
