The Wisdom to Receive Correction

Correction is not always easy to hear. It can challenge our pride, expose our mistakes, or ask us to change something we would rather leave untouched.

Humility helps us listen without becoming defensive. It reminds us that being corrected does not diminish us; it gives us an opportunity to grow.

Wisdom goes a step further. It does not merely hear correction—it reflects on it, learns from it, and makes the necessary changes. When we refuse every correction, we may protect our pride, but we also close ourselves to growth.

A teachable heart is willing to ask, “What can I learn from this?”

“Humility leads to correction. Wisdom learns from it. Foolishness refuses both.”
